Testimony: "I’m going to start living, something I haven’t done in years"

I am a changed person. When I got here I thought it was like a jail, after a while, it felt like the army and now I think it feels like a hostel. I did not like the duties in the beginning but later it got better. I now can mop very well. One thing I also learned here at PRC recovery LOL. I have not smiled and laughed in a year and a half, but I have done a lot of that here. I have my smile back thanks to PRC recovery. I just thought yesterday that I am going to start living now, something I have not done in years. I am going to learn to live in the present moment and not in the past anymore. Thank you PRC recovery for all the fun, laughter and lessons you have taught me. Love you lots. In the beginning, I did not want to be here and I wanted to leave after a month, today I am glad I stayed on.

Group Counselling

I enjoyed the group sessions, I learned a lot from them. Very happy that I got all the classes done in the three months I was here.

Step Work Counselling

My step work coaches were very good to me. I learned a lot. I still struggle a lot doing my step work on my own.

Facility

Everything is good. I suggest investing in new mattresses and new shower curtains (the material ones last longer than the plastic) New basketball and pump as well.

Meals

The first week I was here I thought the food wasn’t nice and too much bread, but that soon changed. The food got better and better. I must compliment all the staff, the food was excellent, especially Mornè’s food.

Fellowship

I didn’t always enjoy the NA meetings. A lot of the time I couldn’t hear what the people were saying because the signal was bad. I enjoyed the Nelspruit NA meetings most seeing that I know some of the people. I could relate.

General

In general, I enjoyed my stay here at PRC recovery and I learned a lot.
