Getting rid of the trauma made me feel free again.

Even though I was not used to the bed, the shower and the healthy meals, I knew that this was not going to be a smooth ride. I came to PRC Recovery because I could not control my using. I hated my lifestyle. I hated the drugs but did not know how to stop. I learned through my step work who I am. I blamed so many people for my addiction, but doing my step work and presenting my life story has brought me such relief. Getting the resentment and amends letters out of my system was a great experience. I realized my wrongs. The program works, I want to live again and can't wait to see what my future holds for me.

Individual Counselling

I had Onthene helping me with my step work. She is a very good coach, she is not afraid to tell you what happened in her life. She explained to me what I must do.

Group Counselling

Onthene - Boundaries/assertiveness, I know now how to set boundaries. Megan - culture of addiction/addiction cycles - very helpful. Persty - procrastination - I am aware now of how to spend my spare time and push through the work. Morne - motivation - I know and understand what motivates me to recover.

Step Work Counselling

Step 1 - 12, the whole step work guide helped me throughout to get some healing. Accepting my disease and getting rid of the trauma and not blaming others for my behaviour. I loved the work just to feel free again.

Facility

My bed was terrible.

Meals

I feel that there is too much bread, and it is unhealthy, except for lunch.

Fellowship

The NA and AA meetings combined with the online meetings I attended showed me that I am not the only one who is an addict. There are other people who suffer from the same disease. We are all the same.

General

In General, the step work was an eye opener for me. I loved the program. I think everyone should finish at least step 9 to feel the freedom.
