PRC develops more skills in dealing with yourself and your life.
I was on the dark side of the world, I did not know myself. I was selfish, dishonest and fearful of myself. I did not take any responsibility for myself and my family. I realized that I need to step up and face my past to work on my future. I held my breath and decided to come to PRC Recovery for help to find myself and a better way to live. I have gained the skills and given the tools to continue working on a better future. I found a Higher Power which guided me in the right direction.
Individual Counselling
The social worker and occupational therapist has done an excellent job to motivate me to let go of my previous life. All the exercising has motivated me by giving me strength, faith and hope.
Group Counselling
I am really accepting all the slots I attended. The facilitators taught me different skills and built my heart to be strong to know the difference between good and bad. I now take ownership of my life because of the group slots, learning how to deal with certain things constructively.
Step Work Counselling
I would like to thank my coach, I appreciate all the effort you put into me. The patience you showed me when I had no idea of what step work means. Your work is important especially for people who are sick like me. All the best to my coach.
Facility
PRC Recovery is a very good place for discipline and learning how to respect other people. I would suggest more sports orientated activities and a generator for when there is loadshedding.
Meals
The time table for meals is good but having cereal for breakfast from day one to the last day, personally I feel this has to change.
Fellowship
Through the NA/AA inhouse meetings and the online meetings I have learned many different good things which has encouraged me to be who I am today. Listening and sharing different experiences has lifted me up.
General
I am feeling very good and proud of myself. I have met different people and we made one family in the same house. No one was above the other. We were all the same, suffering from the disease of addiction.
