I was scared to come to PRC Recovery, but I was 100% willing. This has been the biggest gift that I gave myself ever. I found myself again, my Higher Power again and I found a new way of living that I will follow every day for the rest of my life. It was tough at times, but so am I, I discovered again.
This is how I want to live my life from now on. I deserve it and so does my family I believe in “only fools rush in” and “he who hesitates is lost”. The trick is to apply the right principle to the right situation. Through the program, I will be able to do this correctly.
I appreciated the advice I got in my inventory book. Persty was always willing and able to assist for which I am thankful.
I enjoyed Onthene’s group sessions. Not only was the subject material good but her sharing and honest take on things were priceless.
Step Work Counselling
Morne helped/guided me in the right direction and I was able to discover how precious/valuable and necessary step work and the whole program is for me and is going to be for me for the rest of my life.
The facility is adequate for the purpose of recovery. The only gap is to do better OT. For example, just buying pencil cases, and some craft paints to introduce people to hobbies. Buying some leather straps and accessories to make belts and bracelets.
The meals were adequate, I enjoyed every meal.
For the first time, I attended NA and AA meetings. Definitely going to continue with it.
I just want to say thank you to everybody at PRC recovery for starting me on this new way of living. I am forever grateful.
What makes PRC recovery different?
I have been to 3 different rehab centers before and the main difference for me is the following:
Step work is mandatory at PRC recovery and not at the other centers this is a huge plus point
Duties, this is also something I experienced for the first time and it is a very good thing seeing that it helps with routine and discipline which is vital for me when I get home
NA and AA meetings are mandatory
