Before coming to PRC Recovery I was lost, lonely and I felt like an empty shell, just riding the waves of life with no real goal or purpose. I questioned everything that involved me. I can gladly say that I have had a glimpse of what my life can be. I have gained confidence in myself and in that I do have a purpose to fulfil. I am excited to go into the world and share my story and my experience and I hope that I will be able to inspire change, even if it's for only one other person still suffering from the disease of addiction. I know it will not always be sunshine and roses but I am now armed with tools and new friends that will help me fight my darkest and hardest battles. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be a better person.
I found my individual counselling sessions extremely helpful. Margaret and Octavea really put some issues into perspective for me. They both helped me realize where and what I need to change to be able to have a successful recovery. I am really grateful to have had the opportunity to work with them.
Every single group session I have attended was so informative and helpful. I wrote down almost everything in my book and I will treasure this information and continue to use it and expand on it in my recovery process.
Step Work Counselling
Onthene and Mart really helped me to understand the work that needed to be done and to see my addiction through my answers - for what it truly is. I am extremely grateful that Onthene agreed to be my sponsor, her guidance has made the work a bit easier and her support and motivation helped me to push through the tough times.
I believe the facility is exactly what it needs to be for the purpose it serves. New/different types of mattresses can be considered though.
Meals are sufficient. I enjoyed them all. Definitely not a shortage of food (most of the time there were one or two days where the portions were a bit small for lunch) I would suggest adding boiled eggs with the fruit salad.
I feel extremely privileged to be part of this amazing group of people. I am grateful to know that someone will be able to help me with issues I have in the future and know exactly how I feel.
I enjoyed my time here. I learned a lot and I am grateful for this amazing opportunity at a new life.
