KYLE

recovery coach

What inspired you to work in this field?

As someone in long-term recovery myself, I have a deep passion for supporting others on their journey to sobriety. I want to leverage my lived experience and professional knowledge to provide hope and practical guidance to those currently struggling with addiction

What motivated you to join the team?

Following the closure of my previous place of employment, I sought an opportunity where I could work under leadership I trust. I have immense respect for Morné’s approach; having experienced his impact firsthand as my life coach, I am eager to contribute to a team that shares his values and high standards of care

What unique qualities or experience do you bring to your role?

With nearly three years of continuous sobriety, I offer a 'boots-on-the-ground' perspective. I can bridge the gap between clinical theory and real-world application, helping clients navigate the daily challenges of maintaining a sober lifestyle by leading by example.

What aspects of your job do you find most rewarding?

The most fulfilling aspect of this role is witnessing the restoration of lives and families. Seeing a client transition from the depths of addiction to enjoying a healthy, presence-filled life with their loved ones is incredibly powerful.

Memorable success story?

For me, success means restoring hope to the hopeless. I’ve witnessed people who once felt lost and without a future now living full and hopeful lives. Each of those journeys is memorable because they remind me that change is always possible.

What do you find challenging working in this field?

The most difficult aspect is seeing the increasing trend of substance abuse among the youth. Encountering children as young as nine years old involved in drug use is a sobering reminder of why our work is so critical and why we must remain vigilant in our outreach.

What values or principles guide your approach to supporting the clients?

My work is grounded in person-centered empowerment, placing the individual at the heart of their own recovery and honoring their autonomy throughout the process. I value relentless consistency, offering a stable and reliable presence during times of uncertainty and change. Through radical non-judgment, I cultivate a space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported rather than shamed. At the core of my approach is collaborative partnership — walking alongside each client as an ally, working together to navigate challenges and build sustainable progress.

What is your personal mission statement?

To empower clients with the tools, insight, and knowledge needed to build sustainable recovery and maintain a clean, sober life.

Outside of work, I maintain my own well-being by staying active through sports like action cricket and enjoying the outdoors while fishing. Most importantly, I value quality time and creating memories with my family.

Outside of work, what are some of your interests or hobbies?
