CORLETTE
wellness counsellor
What inspired you to work in this field?
My own recovery journey transformed my life. Along the way, I became fascinated by what helps people heal, particularly the role of trauma, the nervous system, and body-based approaches to recovery. Drawing on both real-life experience and professional training, I hope to support others with compassion, understanding, and hope, sharing the experience, strength, and hope that helped me find a new way of living.
What motivated you to join the team?
Recovery gave me a new way of living, and I wanted the opportunity to pass that on. Joining PRC felt like a natural extension of my own journey and my desire to support others as they navigate theirs.
What unique qualities or experience do you bring to your role?
I bring lived experience, curiosity, and a deep interest in how people grow and change. I am particularly drawn to neurodiversity, nervous system health, and helping people find a way forward that feels authentic and sustainable.
What aspects of your job do you find most rewarding?
I find it rewarding to witness people reconnect with who they are beneath the pain, struggle, and survival patterns. Seeing someone find freedom from destructive patterns, develop hope for the future, and begin building a life that feels meaningful and worth living is a real privilege.
Memorable success story?
The moments that stay with me are when someone begins to see that they are more than their addiction, past mistakes, or circumstances. Watching a person rediscover their worth, find hope again, and become open to new possibilities is both powerful and deeply rewarding.
What do you find challenging working in this field?
One of the challenges is accepting that we cannot do the work for someone else. No matter how much we care, each person has their own journey. My role is to offer support, guidance, and encouragement while trusting that people will find their own path in their own time.
What values or principles guide your approach to supporting the clients?
I am guided by compassion, curiosity, humility, and respect for each person's unique journey. I believe recovery involves developing a deeper understanding of ourselves, learning new ways of responding to life's challenges, and creating a life that feels meaningful, balanced, and sustainable.
What is your personal mission statement?
Help people find freedom from destructive patterns and create lives filled with meaning, connection, and hope.
Nature, swimming, yoga, conscious dance, sewing, music, poetry, and philosophy all nourish me in different ways. Over the years, I've come to appreciate the importance of play, creativity, and reconnecting with the inner child. They remind me not to take life too seriously and help me stay grounded in beauty, joy, and gratitude.
